On Saturday, 9th June, Chew Valley Football Club Under-10’s were presented with £1,000 from Clutton Social Club. The football club currently has 22 members in the squad, and has played 35 games this year.
Under the expert coaching from Team Coaches, Andy and Mark, the two teams are developing rapidly, and consistently improving their skills. Membership has been steadily increasing, and all the players have been encouraged to seek donations for some badly-needed new goal posts and nets.
Clutton Social Club Committee members were moved when they received a handwritten letter from team player, Riley Nash, asking for a donation towards the goalposts, and offered to donate the full costs of the new equipment.
An awards ceremony was held at Clutton Social Club on Saturday, where the money was handed over by the Social Club Charity Secretary, Janet Taylor. After the awards, the teams tucked into pizza and chips for tea.
If any youngsters, aged six to ten years are interested in joining the the team, which is based in Dundry and trains on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, please contact Andy on: 07576 633060.
