The Seniors Section of Fosseway Golf Club held another successful away day at Wheathill Golf Club, thanks to the efforts of Terry Button and Colin Moon. It was one of Fosseway's latest recruits who came out on top. Pat Cray's Stableford total of 37 points saw him come out on top, with John Williams second, with 35 points, and Roger Parfitt (34) third.

Cyril Blacker won the prize for the best first half, with Bob Smith and Henry Thomas sharing the award for the second nine holes. Cray was also nearest the pin on the eighteenth hole, but having already picked up a prize, saw the award go to Vice-Captain, John Appleton. Malcolm Tucker won the prize for the longest drive on the ninth fairway and there were two 'two spot' winners – Doug Howarth and Graham Edgell.

One day later, Blacker was on the winner's rostrum again, this time alongside John Bendle. The two of them came out on top in the Groundsman's Trophy, with a Stableford total of forty points. Button and Bill Lester were second, with 38 points, and Williams and Appleton, third, with 35.
