Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round: Both sides served up a goal feast as Paulton ran out winners.

A lively start saw both keepers tested before after twenty four minutes, Kyle Tooze won a corner, taken on the left by Will Harvey, and Chris Peck headed home.

Biddy levelled six minutes later as Craig Duff’s chip came off the crossbar, and Theo Simpson tapped home.

Simpson saw a low shot held by home stopper Aaron Sainsbury, whilst Paulton saw a neat move started by Nuno Felix laid to Ed Butcher, whose pass to Dan Cottle was well cut out by visiting skipper Adam Taylor.

On the stroke of half time, the referee awarded Rovers penalty for hand ball and Tooze converted from the spot.

After the restart Simpson’s and left winger Javan Wright’s runs were cut out by Dan Dempsey, who with Neil Martin were snuffing out danger.

Butcher made 3-1 on sixty three minutes a quick throw from Felix found the winger who struck low with Biddy keeper, Adam Seedhoue-Evans getting a hand as the ball entered the net.

Three minutes later, the deficit was reduced as Joe Charles was brought down, and Simpson slotted home the penalty.

Paulton made it four after eighty two minutes, as Harvey broke down the right chip over the defender and crossed for Cottle, to head home at the far post.

In the final minute sub Dave O’Hare was tripped as he jinxed his way into the box, and Tooze made no mistake with his fiercely driven penalty.
