The Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club travelled to Wheathill Golf Club for their annual away day and there were a number of impressive scores.

In the end Seniors secretary Alan Jones continued his good form winning the event with a Stableford return of 46 points. Just one point behind came another in-form player Mike Weeks and Allen Cheney with Weeks claiming second place on countback.

The award for the best front nine went to Noel Chatfield with Chris Shellard best on the second half. Cyril Blacker took the prize for the longest drive while Martyn Cuer was nearest the pin on the first and Alan White on the eighteenth. Weeks and Nick Foxwell shared the prize kitty for a two spot.

Members were pleased to see Doug Lane back again after a long period of absence and together with Geoff Hallett he was thanked for making the day such a success.

The oldest playing member in the Seniors section, nonagenarian Reg Curtis had a day to remember in the August medal winning the competition with an outstanding nett score of fifty four. Shellard came close to another medal success finishing one behind with a nett fifty five with Richard Dancey third with a nett fifty seven.
