Last Saturday night saw the annual highlight of Paulton Rovers Netball Club's season – Presentation Evening! The night was a fantastic celebration of this year's successful season, with the club having the best season in their 25-year history.
With record numbers affiliated to both the senior and junior sections, thanks to successful 'Back to Netball' campaigns and the increased popularity of the sport amongst all ages of women, the club entered a third team into the Somerset League. All three teams faced difficult seasons with hard matches every week. However, all the teams placed well in their respective divisions. The junior section continues to grow with the girls showing a real passion for the game. Next season, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
To cap of the fantastic season, the club have been nominated for a Goalden Globe Award – in the Outstanding Club of the Year Award. This award is presented to a club who has made an outstanding contribution within their community. It's a real honour to be nominated for this award.
Looking forward, the club will be running more 'Back to Netball' sessions this summer, on Wednesdays between 7 – 8 p.m., followed by 'Pay and Play' sessions for anyone wanting to play a game with no drills, 8 – 9 p.m.
