Jordan Walker found Jon Davies who passed to Brandon Barnes, but his shot was yards wide. Burnham winger, Tom O'Reagan, hit a free kick straight at keeper, Kyle Phillips, but it was Paulton who pressed and went ahead on eighteen minutes.
Rovers Captain and centre back, Scott Brice, skillfully played the ball down the left wing to Dean Evans and his cross was tucked home from close range by Mike Bryant, with Scott Wilson also on hand to pounce. Brad Hewitt shot over the bar and then Kebamba hit the crossbar with a thunderous shot, as the visitors tried to make a comeback. Barnes, Davies and
Wilson all had chances as Rovers sought to increase their authority.
It was 2–0 to the home side immediately after the restart, when Wilson broke down the right and found Barnes in space, who calmly stroked the ball past the advancing Alex Lynch.
O'Reagan cracked a shot through a sea of legs, bringing a brilliant save from Phillips. Twice within five minutes Davies set up Wilson, who should have scored on both occasions. Both times saved by Lynch's outstretched foot and then in response, Burnham mustered a rare threat through Romaine Walker.
Rovers made it 3–0 with a sweeping move down the right. Barnes laid the ball to Davies and his shot was parried by Lynch, which Wilson turned into the net. This goal was reward for all of Wilson's hard work and endeavour, playing as a lone striker for much of the match.
Substitute, Elliott Gibbons, had a shot straight at Lynch and then Josh Klein-Davies tried a spectacular thirty-yard chip which went narrowly wide.
