Paulton's First Team trip to Bishop's Cleeve last Saturday was called off at 11.00 a.m., just as the team and supporters were about to set off from the club. Bishop's Cleeve have indicated that the morning's torrential rain had left their pitch waterlogged. A new midweek date will be arranged.
On Saturday, 10th November, FA Cup heroes, Yate Town, visit Winterfield Road, kick-off 3.00 p.m.
The South Gloucestershire outfit put up a brave display, losing 3–0 to Division Two side, Cheltenham Town. 'The Bluebells' are managed by former Paulton veteran, Rob Cousins.
Rovers are at home to Taunton Town next Tuesday, 13th November, kick-off 7.30 p.m. and the following week the team is away to Tiverton Town in the Red Assure Southern League Cup, Second Round.
Consequently, any rearranged match at Bishop's Cleeve will be towards the end of the month, at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Lee Collier has left the area to take up a new job in Southampton and has joined rivals, Poole Town. Rovers have brought in ex-Bath City midfielder, Mark Badman. He was due to make his debut in last Tuesday's (6th November) Somerset Premier Cup Second Round match at home to Wells City.
With last Sunday's snow and rain, parties of supporters and officials spent Monday night clearing the pitch following last Saturday's very successful annual Grand Fireworks Display, attended by well over 500 people.
The Youth Team were beaten 5–1 on Tuesday, 30th October, by a very slick Bristol Rovers Academy side, managed by former City winger, Alan Walsh. The game gave Paulton Manager, Lorne Wilkinson, an opportunity to try out some potential new signings.
Thursday, 1st November's home league game against Clevedon Town was also postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch.
Saturday, 3rd November saw Somerset U-18s entertain Sussex in the FA County Youth Cup Second Round at Winterfield Road. Paulton players, Dane Edwards and Jack Francis, both started for the county and Dan Hughes was the substitute keeper.
In a vastly entertaining game, Somerset, somewhat against the run of play, were leading 3–1 with six minutes left, then failed to convert a penalty to add to the score. In the last three minutes, Sussex scored twice to take the game to extra time and in the first five minutes of the added period, hit two more to run out 5–3 winners!
On Thursday, 8th November, Paulton's Youth Team are away to league leaders, Hengrove Athletic, kick-off 7.30 p.m. in a Somerset Floodlit Youth League game.
