After electing to bowl first, Timsbury made early inroads into the Stapleton batting line-up and the home side never recovered, eventually being bowled out for one hundred and ten in just over thirty one overs. Oli Hulbert led the way with figures of 3-34, Arran Stewart in his first league match of the season took 2-32 and Jon Strand took 2-2. The bowlers were backed up by sharp fielding and crucial catches.

The visitors approached the run chase in positive style and knocked off the runs in just nineteen overs. Jack Willams was the star of the show striking a rapid undefeated forty eight including ten fours.

Timsbury’s second eleven were involved in a high scoring encounter at home to Abbot’s Leigh in the Bristol and District League Division 5 before running out winners by thirty six runs.

Dan Hill was in typically aggressive form for his eighty one, Adam Workman struck fifty one, captain Ben Hosford was out just three runs short of his half-century while George Webb again impressed with an unbeaten thirty five as Timsbury rattled up 243-4 in their forty overs.

Far from being inhibited by the imposing target, the visitors gave the chase a real go with James Holdsworthy hitting a rapid sixty five, Ben Caddick making forty seven and James Tucker forty five but Timsbury held their nerve for a much needed win. Zak Cox took 3-28, Neil Hucker 2-38 and Freddie Hosford 2-44 in the visitors’ total of 207-9.

Timsbury 3rd XI again bore the brunt of unavailabilities but once more showed a lot of character before losing by three wickets away to Old Bristolians Westbury 4th XI in the Bristol and District League Division 13. After being asked to bat first, Timsbury were dismissed for one hundred and nine with the promising Cory Versfeld top scoring with twenty seven. Captain Laurie Jones did his best to keep Timsbury in the match but a knock of forty two from opener Nathan Williams proved crucial.
