Together with John Appleton and Howard Nowell, he lifted the Continuforms Trophy with a nett score of 47 in the Texas Scramble event. It was a timely reward for all the hard work he has put in off the course. The trio nudged out Phil Moody, Bill Lester and Malcolm Tucker, who were one behind, and John Bendle, Denis White and Arthur Bellinger, who went round in a nett fifty.
This week, the Seniors will be looking to gain revenge for a heavy defeat away to Wincanton earlier in the season when they play the return fixture at Fosseway, to be followed by the Seniors' annual away day, this year at Wheathill Golf Club.
