he Juniors at Wells Golf Club have had a busy week taking part in the Junior Open and Junior Club Championship. Somerset County golfer, fourteen-year-old Josh Higgs, was triumphant in both competitions, taking the Open Stableford Title with 39 points on Friday and two days, later was crowned Junior Club Champion, shooting a gross score of 77. The results have shown Josh that his hard work he has put in over the last year have now been rewarded, it would be great for Wells Golf Club to see Josh continue this form.
With the weather great on both days and the course in superb condition, the Open attracted competitors from both local and not-so-local clubs, West Lancashire being the furthest.
Prize winners: Over 28 Handicap Stableford Winner, James Rew (Taunton and Pickerage) 40 points. Ladies Stableford Winner, Bella White (Saltford) 28 points.
