Avon and Somerset Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Gloucestershire, after a pedestrian died in a collision on the A37 in Shepton Mallet on Sunday.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

A 28-year-old man from Dorset was killed in the collision, which happened shortly after he left the Westfest event at the Bath and West Showground.

Police have also recovered a car as part of the ongoing investigation.
