£500 in cash has been taken after the Community Room at Pine Court, Radstock was broken in to last weekend. The money was taken from a locked inner room, and Curo, the Social Housing landlord, had recently replaced all of the front door locks in the complex.
A locked metal box, containing approximately £275 and a large glass jar full of silver coins, with an estimated worth of an additional £250, was stolen. The money was property of the Pinechester Social Club, a group formed by and open to, tenants of Pine Court and Chichester Place.
Jonathan Lymposs, The club Treasurer, said: “The glass jar was a special collection we were saving for Christmas, and the lock box contained cash we intended to pay for upcoming social events. These will now have to be cancelled.”
A Forensic officer arrived at the Pine Court Community Room on Tuesday this week to dust for prints. The police are appealing for anyone who knows of someone committing theft in the area to come forward.
