On Friday, 27th July, Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a disturbance at the Co-op, Paulton High Street, at around 12.40 a.m.

It has been reported that a man in his twenties was assaulted, and has suffered a “serious” chest injury as a result. He was later taken to hospital.

At the time of writing, neither the attacker or the victim have been identified, and no arrests have been made. Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to the public for any information they can give on the case.

On Friday morning, the High Street in Paulton was cordoned to allow crime scene investigators to examine the area.

The road is now open as usual, though the investigation continues.
