On 11th December, the gardening club had its annual party, with the entertainment provided by the wonderful Elderly Brothers.
All of the members had brought a contribution to the food, with the Brothers instructing us all that we had to sing for our supper. The Hall rang out with music and laughter as we accompanied the band with songs of our youth, singing lustily, clapping and banging on our tables at times.
A really happy evening ensued; the band kept us laughing with their jokes, and eventually we stopped for refreshments and rounded off the evening with a few more Christmas songs. Everyone agreed that it had been a great success.
Our next meeting will be on 8th January at 7.30 p.m. and will be given by George Hobson, who will show and tell us all about butterflies, which looks to be a colourful evening.
We welcome all visitors, new and old. Do come and join our happy band of gardeners. Margaret Wasem
