A local store manager at Tesco, in Peasedown St John, is reminding shoppers of the good that the Somer Valley Foodbank have been doing this year and will continue to do beyond the pandemic.
Ian Seymour says: “I wanted to raise the profile of the foodbank this year and how we can continue to support them now and after Christmas.
“We know it is a challenging time for everyone at the moment as the Coronavirus pandemic unfolds. In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. As a nation, we expect no one to be left hungry or destitute – it could happen to any one of us. We would ask you to make a difference and donate an item(s) in your local Tesco shop in the foodbank basket, located in all our stores. The Somer Valley Foodbank have asked to think of people at Christmas, 2021 and hopefully as we come out of this pandemic.”
