B&NES Council has met to discuss the remodelling and management of local Children’s Centre services in a bid to save an estimated £59,000.
Centres affected include Midsomer Norton Children’s Centre, with management of the building proposed to go to Midsomer Norton Primary School.
Paulton Children’s Centre, which is currently managed by Bright Start Children Centre Services, will continue to be managed by them, but proportional costs will be increased, as it is leased by a private nursery.
The proposals also affect Chew Valley Children’s Centre, with management of that building due to go to Chew Valley Secondary School and Weston Children’s Centre, in Bath, will be managed by Weston All Saints Church, with the building subject to an asset transfer to the church as well. The Council will continue to maintain the structure of the building and any costs in relation to asbestos and the roof.
