AS part of the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival, visitors can explore Yeo Valley Organic Garden enjoying early-season snowdrops and other spring plants.

On Friday, February 20, and Saturday 21 from 10am to 5pm, as part of the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival, visitors can meander through the Woodland Walk and peaceful Birch Grove, ideal spots for spotting generous swathes of snowdrops and welcoming the first signs of spring.

Garden owner and creator Sarah Mead, said: “These little bulbs might be small, but they are mighty!” says garden owner and creator Sarah Mead. “Planted together in great drifts, they really put on a show. We divide and replant the clumps every year to keep the winter magic growing, it’s one of those simple garden rituals that always brings joy.”

The snowdrops in the Woodland Walk are a main feature of the garden, though they can also be seen throughout the grounds. Visitors can also view hellebores in a range of colours and displays of willow and cornus stems.

The café will offer light lunches and homemade cakes, and the garden shop will stock snowdrop-themed sculptures, tools, gifts, and Yeo Valley Organic dairy and soup products.

Yeo Valley Organic Garden is a 6.5-acre Soil Association-certified garden, owned and managed by Sarah and Tim Mead, who also run the nearby Yeo Valley Organic farm. Open to visitors from April to October, the garden includes snowdrop and camassia meadows, an enclosed kitchen garden, and a perennial gravel garden that flourishes in late summer. As an RHS Partner Garden, it has been featured in garden publications and attracts visitors from across the UK.

The garden reopens fully for the 2026 season from Thursday, April 9, when regular open days resume every Thursday to Saturday until the end of October.
