Volunteers at Midsomer Norton Station, John Griffin and Andy Chapman, have been immortalised in a painting by local artist and supporter, Jane Riley.
On one of her visits to the station, Jane captured Andy and John in the workshop, busy with renovations and repairs. Jane has offered the painting to the station as a fundraiser, and it can be seen in the buffet car when you go for your cuppa and refreshments!
Visitors at Christmas can come and see the painting when they go for their mince pie and punch after riding behind Santa, or call in for a look on a Sunday or Monday, which are workdays for the Somerset and Dorset Heritage Railway.
Volunteers at Midsomer Norton Station are congratulating themselves on the first time Santa has been ‘On the Train’ this festive season – it was a resounding success. The last one is this Sunday, 16th December.
