Rachel Hall, Manager at the Midsomer Norton branch of Lloyds TSB, has presented a cheque for £1,509.33 to the Laker family, from Paulton, at Farrington Park Golf Club last Friday, 6th May after a year of fundraising.
The money will go to the charity, Cots for Tots, who the bank have been supporting. This also coincided with the annual Poppy Laker Charity Golf Day, which was set up by Poppy’s parents to thank staff at the RUH who helped to look after their daughter after a difficult birth. Funds raised will be going to Cots for Tots, Forever Friends Appeal and SPARKS Children’s Medical Research Charity and is thought to be around the £10,000 mark.
Speaking about their branch fundraising, Rachel said: “Between TSB Midsomer Norton and Wells we have raised the funds from raffles, quiz nights, cake sales and also a Race Night, which was organised at Mardon’s Social Club.
“I want to thank all the customers who have supported our fundraising at both the Midsomer Norton and Wells offices. We have managed to raise £1,509.33 over the last year and I am delighted that these funds will go to such a deserving cause. We were drawn to supporting this charity after hearing Poppy’s story.”
