Fundraisers are celebrating the amazing success of a Midsomer Norton charity shop which has received thousands of bags of donations.
Barnardo’s opened in The Hollies in 2011 and has since received 14,000 bags of clothes, books, toys, games and accessories.
The charity has also been supported by a team of hardworking volunteers, who have contributed more than 17,000 hours to help with sorting the stock and serving the customers.
Profits go towards work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, including those affected by poverty, abuse, disability and discrimination.
Barnardo’s shop manager Maria Collins said: “We wanted to arrange a special thank-you for everyone who has worked so hard and achieved so much over the last five years.
“We were amazed when we realised just how many bags of donations have been received, and how many hours have been volunteered, since we first opened.
“It’s a clear sign of the generosity of the residents of Midsomer Norton and the surrounding villages.”
Maria is supported by sales assistant, Emma Goddard and a team of 22 volunteers aged from fourteen to 83-years-old.
Last year 240,000 children, young people and families were supported by Barnardo’s through more than 960 services across the UK. Visit www.barnardos.org.uk
