Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause severe delays – with drivers facing a holdup of at least half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A36, from 6am March 1 to 6am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both direction Limpley Stoke, two-way traffic lights for carriageway works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A36, from 7pm to 11pm on June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton traffic lights for DFT sensor repairs.

A36, from 9pm June 23 to 6am June 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Brassknocker Hill, 4-way signals for electrical work.

A36, from 8pm June 26 to 6am June 29, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 both directions Warminster Road, Limpley Stoke at Scotland Rocks, carriageway closure between Church Lane and B3108 for carriageway renewal, southbound, diversion via - A36, A4, A350 and A361, northbound, diversion via - A361, A350 and A4.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
