On Sunday, 4th September local charity, Bath Cats and Dogs Home, are hosting their annual Wag Walk, a fundraising challenge event and local people, walkers and animal lovers are invited to take part with or without a dog to bring.

It is supported by TV presenter and celebrity vet, Dr James Greenwood, and sponsored by Bath Vets, raisng vital funds for the care of unwanted, stray, or mistreated cats and dogs at the home.

Starting from the rescue centre in Claverton, Bath the walking routes feature beautiful countryside with a choice of a two-mile flat route staying close to the home or a five-mile route along the National Trust Bath Skyline, with more challenging terrain. Dogs will receive a stylish ‘Wag Walk’ doggie bandana, to wear and take home as a memento of the day.

The walk finishes in the grounds of BCDH, where walkers can stay for a picnic with their new Wag Walk friends, collect their goodie bags enjoying refreshments and activities. To register visit www.bcdh.org.uk/wagwalk for entry costs.

All entrants will get a personalised sponsorship form and each walker should raise a suggested £40 in to support the charity. Top fundraisers will have a special prize and every pound raised will be used to care for unwanted, mistreated or abandoned local dogs and cats at the home.
