Edith Short has been a resident at Beechcroft since April 2020. Known mostly in the community from working at the local post office on the High Street, she’s since retired but is still well remembered by the customers as well as the local Methodist Church.
Edith celebrated her one-hundredth birthday on Christmas eve surrounded by friends she’s made at the care home, numerous flowers and cards, as well as her very special card from King Charles - which Edith was so excited to receive.
“They do look after me well here, I feel very lucky” said Edith.
Residents celebrated with Edith over an afternoon cream tea and a lovely handmade cake. Edith thanks everyone that has remembered her one-hundredth birthday, and says how happy she is that she’s come to live at Beechcroft Residential Home.
