THE staff pantomime brought much laughter and magic to St John’s Primary School, Midsomer Norton, this festive season.

Pupils at St John’s Primary School were treated to a magical surprise as staff took to the stage to perform a pantomime of Sleeping Beauty, bringing the school term to a joyful and laughter-filled close.

The much-anticipated performance saw teachers and support staff swap classrooms for costumes, delighting children with dramatic acting, catchy songs and plenty of classic pantomime moments.

From the heroic prince to the mischievous fairy and a very convincing villain, the cast had pupils cheering, laughing and joining in with enthusiastic cries of: “He’s behind you!”

The pantomime was performed as a special end-of-term treat and proved to be a wonderful way to celebrate the festive season and the strong sense of community at the school.

Children were thrilled to see familiar faces in unexpected roles, and the performance was met with loud applause and huge smiles all round.

The headteacher, Mrs Danielle West-Gaul said: “The staff pantomime has become a much-loved tradition at St John’s. It’s a chance to bring everyone together, have some fun and end the term on a high note. The children’s laughter and cheering made all the rehearsals worthwhile!”

St John’s Primary School, a Church of England school, prides itself on creating joyful shared experiences alongside learning, and the pantomime perfectly reflected the school’s values of togetherness, creativity and celebration.
