A FAMILY-focused church service designed for young children and their parents is marking 18 months in Peasedown St John, with growing attendance and continued support from the local community.
St John’s Church, which runs a vast array of children’s activities throughout the week and at various times in the year, became a part of the Bubble Church Network in 2023.
Bubble Church was launched several years ago in Balham, London, and due to its dynamic style and versatility, many churches across the UK have since incorporated it into their schedules.
It is a short, family-friendly Sunday service designed specifically for babies, toddlers, and young children up to around seven years old, typically featuring activities such as puppets, stories centred on Christian teachings, and informal time for families to connect, often with refreshments like coffee and snacks.
Rob Bubyer, operations manager and children’s pastor at St John’s Church, said: “Bubble Church is a Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families. It's a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, coffee-and-croissant-fueled, 30-minute kids and families adventure. We’ve seen how successful it’s been here in Peasedown St John.
“It’s been a fantastic way to bring families together on a Sunday morning for fun and games for the children and coffee and croissants for the adults!”
The Bubble Church in Peasedown St John meets monthly on the first Sunday of the month at 9.15am.
The next Bubble Church event is scheduled for Sunday, August 10, at St John’s Church on Church Road (BA2 8AA). The gathering will include games, crafts, and a bouncy castle, aimed at children up to seven years old. Booking is required for attendance.
