Finally! Students have been able to take part in visits again – and last week Applied
Science students from Mendip Studio School and Writhlington School spent the day at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
The high point was a chance to meet and interview scientist, Jonathan Kendon, and learn about his conservation work in the micropropagation laboratory.
Students learnt about his work with orchid species, bryophytes and mycorrhizal fungi, and will now be applying his techniques in their own investigations back at school.
The schools would like to thank Jonathan and the team at Kew.
