A consistent pattern of sunshine has resulted in record solar power generation for leading local hybrid mail company, CFH Docmail Ltd. Solar Power was responsible for 20% of the company’s total energy for the month, during some weekends provided 100% of the business’s energy requirement and the energy generated would be sufficient to power an average home in the UK for seven years.
Managing Director for Radstock, Adam Harwood, says: "The company has invested £400,000 in a twenty-year programme which will achieve complete payback by 2022, so it’s very important that we stay on track. After a cold and mixed June, this run of good weather has been very welcome.
"Our investment in solar power is part of a wider range of significant continual environmental initiatives, which will not only make the business more energy efficient, continues to mitigate our impact on the environment and save money, but which unusually, we also share with other businesses operating within our sector."
"Whilst the warm weather has provided a boost to solar production, it’s important to remember that soaring temperatures can affect solar panel efficiency and in the hottest countries, water cooling often has to be employed. Oddly, a perfect day might come in early autumn or late spring, when a cold snap gives way to a clear sunny day with a breeze."
