It was an easy one last week, but a really wonderful photograph that we had to share. This one you might find a little trickier...
If you have any photographs of your own, please feel free to share them with our readers, too.
Well done to Jonathan Griffin, Paul Hancock, Judith Bohan, Simon Ball, Christine Oatley, Nigel Gillard, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Keith and Loraine Pursey, Simon Chard, Winston Eyles, Andrew Thayer, Neil Gillard, Hilary Brown, Beryl Rhymer, Rodney Gullick, Tanya Squire, Kam Keedon, Frankie Ford, Betty Jones, Norma Attwood, Elaine Bowen, Ivor Davis, Alan Curtis, Hugh Weeks, Jurgen and Bobby, Shirley Steel, Tony Jones, Joan Chappell, Jack Hansford, Gilmour Jones, Dan Clark, Judith Stanford, Mike Ford, Graham Sage, Ken Cottle, Rod Hisug-Bridges, Carolyn Phillips, Wendy White, Andrea Massey, Wayne Heatley, Janet Cheasley, Martina Mitchard, Steven Horler; and Sally, John Bull and Neil Gould via Twitter.
Shirley Steel tells us: “To the left of the middle of the photograph, behind the horse’s head, is my Great Uncle’s Grocery Store, which he ran for many years.
“Just right of the centre is a small road under the railway crossing, leading to the market building. My father would drive under it in his motorbike and sidecar, and it was always deep in rainwater – so I would get soaked!”
If you think you can guess this week’s entry (top), and would like a mention, email: [email protected] or via Facebook or Twitter @MNRJournal.
You can even send us a photograph of what the scene looks like today. Thanks, as ever, to Radstock Museum, who have been hugely supportive of this popular feature.
Don’t forget the ‘Memories over Elevenses’ event at the museum, which is held on the first Friday of the month from 10.30 a.m. until 12 noon, where visitors can bring old photographs, objects and documents and share your stories and knowledge with the team. Complementary tea, coffee and cakes are on offer – please bring along a friend, or make some new ones!
