Drivers in and around North Somerset will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm January 5 to 10am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.

M5, from 8pm January 7 to 5am January 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 exit slip roads - lane closures for North Somerset Council works.

M5, from 8pm January 14 to 4am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip lane closure for signage repairs.

M5, from 9pm January 14 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
