In order to take Midsomer Norton Pride forward as an event, a meeting has been arranged for Friday, 20th September at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall in order to establish a membership organisation and elect a committee under the banner of the Community Trust.

In this way, it is hoped that the huge amount involved in running Pride can be shared by many more people working together as a team.

Attendees at the last meeting in August proposed a set of aims that cover Community, Social, Education and Campaigning as well as an overall mission: "To unashamedly represent Midsomer Norton and the wider Somer Valley, unapologetically standing up for the rights of the LGBT+ community. Midsomer Norton Pride is for everyone in our community to celebrate together on the basis that we are stronger together.

"Beginning with a short business meeting, our hope is to then open up the bar and allow plenty of time for socialising."

As well as the LGBT+ community, family, friends and residents are welcome to attend.
