Saturday, 9th December was the Midsomer Norton and District Carnival Association Annual Presentation evening held at Pratten's Social Club.

Sixteen classes of entrants, plus many special awards were handed out on a dazzling evening celebrating seventy five years of the Association.

The Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr Gordon Mackay said a few words to open the ceremony, thanking everyone for their hard work and praising the continued success of the Carnival.

Chairman Steve Collins thanked Midsomer Norton Town Council for their continued support before announcing the awards which were presented by this years’ Carnival Royalty, Princes Cody Wilson, Jacob Hinge and Kian Barson with  Queen Chloe Wall and Princess Aeris Stuparyk.

Best Local Entry and winner of the Pat Franklin Memorial Trophy went to Uk’Otoa (King William CC) with the Best Open Entry being awarded to “December the 25th” (Huckyduck CC).

“We’re so lucky to have the Illuminated Carnival in Midsomer Norton”, commented Cllr Mackay, “it’s a fantastic event and always great to see our High Street lined with people watching the incredible displays.”
