The Best Western Centurion Hotel in Midsomer Norton handed over a cheque for £1,611 to local cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY), towards the end of their year as the hotel’s chosen charity partner.

The final total in January will include the proceeds of a World Cup sweepstake and staff Christmas raffle. Health club manager Jolyon Burgess also ran the Bath Half Marathon for the charity in October and the hotel supported We Hear You in July at a family fun day and fun run, all contributing to the amount raised.

Jolyon Burgess said: “All of the staff and members throughout the Centurion Hotel, Health Club and Golf Club have been very proud to support our charity of the year, We Hear You this year. WHY is a local charity that is close to the hearts of many people, and it has been great to work with them on many events during the year from family open days, sponsored half marathons and many club fund raisers. A massive thank you to all of our customers and members who have contributed to our efforts and attended events during 2022, it was all for a fantastic cause.

Thw work we do with prominent local businesses has such an important role to play in helping us to support the community, both in terms of awareness raising and fundraising. This donation will help those who need to access WHY’s free specialist support for people affected or bereaved by cancer and life-threatening conditions.”
