As we entered lockdown 2.0, it became clear that even more pressure has been put on the finances of local charities, and they need to rely heavily on the support of their community. So, it is quite timely that Keynsham Mencap’s supporters are fundraising on their behalf.
Volunteer and fundraising guru, Jason Preston, turned 50 in November and to mark the occasion he is setting himself his biggest challenge yet.
Jason is a keen distance cyclist in his spare time and so he has set himself a task of cycling from Land’s End to John O’ Groats. He will be doing this virtually and hopes to complete it within six months. Jason will be cycling shorter distances in his spare time and will clock up the mileage and keep his supporters up-to-date on his progress via Keynsham Mencap’s Facebook page.
Jason will be raising funds for the Super Saturday Club in Bath and Radstock Juniors, two clubs very close to his heart that provide fun activities for children and young people with a learning disability and autism.
He has set up a fundraising page and a text number to donate funds along the way. You can support Jason at: easydonate.org/BIKE or by text. To donate £5, text BIKE to 70970 , to donate £10, text BIKE to 70191.
