Why not take time out from the pressure of Christmas preparations to join old friends, and maybe make new ones, at Writhlington’s Annual Concert of Music and Verse?

Once held in the Methodist Chapel, it now has a new home in the Village Hall on Manor Road. This year, it will be held on Wednesday, 20th December. The hall will be open for raffle ticket sales at 7.15 p.m., and the evening will start at 7.30 p.m. Admission and light refreshments will be free, and mulled wine will be on sale during the interval. There will be an opportunity to sing traditional songs and carols, and to hear the Trinity Singers, Westfield Ladies’ Choir, the Tabor Handbell Ringers, and Brian Vickers playing the organ.

A retiring collection will this year be donated to Norton Down Africa Fund, to help young children in North-West Kenya. It currently supports four free nursery schools, each of which accommodates thirty children.
