The Victoria Hall in Radstock is gearing up for a busy Christmas, with ten events in the lead-up to the big day. “We wanted to make sure that we had a range of events to suit all tastes and ages, so that local audiences can enjoy some festive entertainment, without having to travel too far,” explains Programme Co-ordinator, Caroline Green.

A highlight of this seasonal programme are two live screenings of Peter Wright’s’ much loved production of The Nutcracker for the Royal Ballet on Thursday, 8th December at 7.15 p.m. and Sunday, 11th December at 2 p.m. Set on Christmas Eve, this beautiful ballet is beamed directly from the stage at the Royal Opera House.

For folk lovers, Bath Music Festival are presenting a night with violin and guitar duo, Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow on Friday, 9th December at 7.30 p.m. and there is a special Christmas Acoustic Session featuring Radstock’s very own Simon Allen on Saturday, 17th December starting at 7 p.m.

If you want to boogie your way into Christmas, the Harlem Rhythm Cats are on stage for a vintage themed evening of boogie, hip shakin’, swingin’, jiving music from the 40s, 50s and 60s this Saturday, 10th December from 7.30 p.m. – 11.30 p.m. There will also be dance instructors on hand to show you a few sassy moves, plus special guests, dance competitions and best dressed competitions – so get your dancing shoes ready!

Talented students from the Susan Hill School of Dancing and Bath Dance College will be presenting a festive mash up of all your favourite Christmas hits in ‘A Christmas Cracker’ on Friday, 16th December at 7.30 p.m. and on Saturday, 17th December at 2.30 p.m. This variety show is a fun filled extravaganza that promises to leave all the

family in the festive spirit.

Finally, families with young children can look forward to two performances of Jack Frost by Moon on a Stick on Sunday, 18th December at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This magical wintry production brings the classic tale to life through puppetry, live music and enchanting storytelling.
