10p a foot is how much a Paulton lady raised for charity in a very unusual way. To celebrate her forthcoming seventieth birthday, Helen Collins, who is a member of Paulton Methodist Church, decided she would like to take part in a skydive in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

So, on a beautiful morning in October, Helen took to the skies at Wanborough Airfield, near Swindon, to jump 10,000 feet from the aircraft.

Helen commented that she was not too keen on the first thirty seconds which was freefall, but as soon as the canopy opened and she gently floated to earth, it was an amazing and wonderful experience.

Her family were waiting excitedly as she made her landing.

Helen has raised over £1,000 to date for her chosen charity and would like to thank all her friends at the church, Paulton Charity Shop and her own family and friends for their support.
