A NEW pet wellness campaign in Midsomer Norton aims to help local cats and dogs maintain a healthy lifestyle and detect early signs of illness.

Highcroft Silva House Veterinary Centre on Silver Street is offering a free wellness consultation with a vet or nurse throughout January, along with a half-price PitPat activity monitor for dogs to help clients track and tailor their pet’s exercise routine.

Just like humans, pets benefit from a healthy lifestyle, and maintaining a healthy weight and staying active can reduce the risk of illness, improve mobility, and boost overall happiness.

During each free wellness consultation, the team at Highcroft Silva House Veterinary Centre will carry out a life stage assessment based on the pet’s age and provide tailored advice on nutrition, exercise, and preventative care to help keep them thriving.

In partnership with PitPat, dogs will be offered a 50 per cent discount voucher to purchase a PitPat activity monitor. The device can be used to monitor a dog’s activity and help owners adjust exercise routines, with guidance provided through the PitPat app.

Simon Webb, head veterinarian at Highcroft Silva House Veterinary Centre, said: “January is the perfect time for a fresh start and a focus on health, and that includes your pets. During the free consultation, we will carefully evaluate each pet who comes through our door to identify how their overall health can be improved and detect any underlying conditions early.

“Our team will then provide expert advice and support, to help every owner take those first steps towards a healthier lifestyle for their pets.”

Appointments for the free wellness consultations at Highcroft Silva House Veterinary Centre can be made until January 31 by contacting the practice by phone or through their website at www.cvsvets.com.
