The community cinema returns with three huge films this weekend.

First, on Friday, 27th April at 7.30 p.m. is Mary Magdalene – a portrait of one of the most enigmatic and misunderstood spiritual figures in history. The biblical biopic tells the story of Mary, a young woman in search of a new way of living. Constricted by the hierarchies of the day, Mary defies her traditional family to join a new social movement led by the charismatic Jesus of Nazareth. She soon finds a place for herself within the movement and at the heart of a journey that will lead to Jerusalem.

There will then be two films screened on Saturday, 28th April. First up at 2.30 p.m., will be a screening of Peter Rabbit. The mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door.

The third and final film screening of the weekend will be Finding Your Feet on Saturday, 28th April at 7.30 p.m. On the eve of retirement, a middle class, judgemental snob discovers her husband has been having an affair with her best friend and is forced into exile with her bohemian sister who lives on an impoverished inner-city council estate. The film stars Imelda Staunton, John Sessions, David Hayman, Joanna Lumley and Timothy Spall.

All films feature cinema-quality HD projection on the big screen, with full surround sound and comfy cinema seating. Refreshments are available at all screenings from the fully-licensed Sarah Ann Bar.
