SCHOOLBOY Rufus Keeton has designed the shirts and medals for this year’s Chew Valley 10k race.
Rufus, aged 13, a year eight pupil in Chew Valley School, came up with the design during the half-term holidays.
Race director Denise Mellersh said his eye-catching T-shirt design was a clear winner as it showed off the countryside route of the Chew 10k.
Ms Mellersh said: “As part of the build up to the event, we have worked with the school for many years to offer students the chance to take part in our T-shirt design competition.
“This gives students the opportunity to follow a brief and get involved in a real-life design project and the processes involved.
"The Chew Valley 10k team were so impressed with Rufus’ winning design, which gives a subtle nod to the infamous Coley Hill, our beautiful, rural route, and friendly atmosphere, that it was decided to use it for our medal as well.”

The 10k event is now in its 14th year and entry to the race includes a bespoke medal with Rufus’ design and a free kit store.
The race T-shirt is available to purchase for £12 when entering the event and is a breathable, technical shirt, made from recycled plastic.
As a community fund-raiser, profits from the event will be donated to Dorothy House Hospice Care, now celebrating its 50th year, as well as local schools in Chew Valley and Bishop Sutton, and Bloodbikes NICU Support, which supports premature babies across the Westcountry.
More than 300 runners have so far entered the race, which takes place on Saturday, June 7, starting at 9.30 am from Bishop Sutton Village Hall, with Rufus attending with his family to see his winning design being worn.
The event can be followed on Facebook, Instagram, and X, or by via its website www.chewvalley10k.co.uk.
