A chance for residents to improve their gardens and local environment is on offer in two tree giveaway trial events to be held by B&NES Council.

As part of the Council’s commitment to tackling the

effects of the climate and ecological emergencies, up to three free trees per household are being made available at the events in Radstock on April 24th and May 1st.

Residents will be able to choose from a range of species including birch, alders, snake bark maple and mountain ash.

Half-hour time slots can be booked for tree collections between 9 am to 5 pm on either date via: https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/webforms/treegiveaway/

Residents need to show a copy of their tree order confirmation at the collection point, either on their phone screen or on paper. The potted trees are between 2 and 2.5 metres tall and will be able to fit in a medium sized family car with the seats down. Residents are asked to arrive without passengers to allow maximum space for the trees and to reduce the number of people coming into contact with each other. Staff will help with loading.

The events will take place at Radstock Road works depot, Radstock, BA3 2AA on Saturday, 24th April and Saturday, May 1st. Please note collection is not from the recycling centre. The location for collection is adjacent to the old Five Arches Bridge and will be signposted.
