Frome College students, Joseph Dobson and Louis Tozer, recently attended the BAFTA Television Awards in London. They rubbed shoulders with ‘Best Actor’ Sean Bean, stood next to Amanda Holden and saw Declan Donnely.
Joseph and Louis won their tickets to the award ceremony in the Royal Festival Hall by making a film about Cyber Bullying. The film was judged by Ronan Keating, Tim Minchin, and Otto Bathurst (Director, Robin Hood, Black Mirror) as the best in the sixteen to 21-year-old category of the ‘All Rise’ International Film Competition.
Joseph said: “It has given us invaluable experience into what it takes to make a short film. We both wish to get into the industry, and this will hopefully help with our ambitions. To see our video, it can be found on the ‘All Rise: Say No to Cyber Abuse’ Facebook page.”
Joseph and Louis will also be attending Twickenham Film Studios in July for work experience as part of their prize. They hope to win a BAFTA in the years to come.
