The Parkinson’s UK Bath branch recently held an Indoor Bowls Knockout contest. The players competed against each other until an outright winner was decided.

Jennifer Madgett, from Shepton Mallet, was the winner, who was presented an award by Branch Co-ordinator, John Saunders. Another tournament is planned for the end of the year.

Upcoming coffee mornings organised by the group include: The Centurion Hotel, Midsomer Norton (first Tuesday of the month); The Cheese and Grain, Frome (second Friday of the month); The George Inn, Gurney Slade (third Wednesday of the month); The Talbot Inn, Keynsham (last Tuesday of the month); Chew Magna Old Children’s Centre (fourth Wednesday of the month) and at 41 Hanover Close, Shepton Mallet (first Wednesday of the month). All coffee mornings take place from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon, with the exception of The Talbot Inn, which begins at 10.30 a.m.

The group’s indoor bowls club takes place every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Purnell Bowls Club, Paulton. Purnell also host a Craft Coffee Morning every second Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

There are also two gentle exercise classes available, at Frome Medical Centre every Monday from 10.30 a.m. and at Odd Down Sports Ground every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 p.m. For more details, contact John Saunders on: 01761 432452.
