Waterside Benefice

The Waterside Benefice has said a fond farewell to its curate Nathanael Worsley.

The service on April 6 was also an opportunity to thank him for his service to St Peter’s and to St Nicholas and the whole community of Radstock and Westfield. Nathanael’s family, Danielle his wife and Maya his daughter, joined him at the end of the service when members of the congregation laid hands on them, to pray them on their way to Cheshire with blessings, love and best wishes.

Nathanael joined the Waterside Benefice in June 2023 after his ordination as Deacon and we were able to celebrate with him in Wells Cathedral when he was later ordained as priest. During his time with us Nathanael and his family have become influential members of the community. Nathanael was a particular hit with the local schools as he would attend their assemblies armed with various props but also, to the children’s delight, conjuring tricks, to illustrate his bible stories. Laterally, Nathanael became Chair of Radstock & Westfield Churches Together and became well known for his work across our local faith communities.

Mike Davies, St Peter’s PCC communications officer, said: “Our loss is to the benefit of Nathanael’s new post as vicar of St Michael and All Angels, Middlewich, with St Johns, Byfield in Cheshire – both in the diocese of Chester.”
