Last Thursday morning, a local volunteer helped Cllr Diana Cooper, from Westfield Parish Council, to plant up the new circular beds around four trees in Jubilee Green to mark the start of the summer planting scheme in Westfield.
600 plants will give a burst of colour around the four trees and the Parish Council hopes that they will be appreciated by those who live and work in the area and those passing through on Wells Road.
Many grateful thanks to Cllr Diana Cooper, her husband and all who are doing such huge amounts of work to get the planting scheme in place this year. Cllr Cooper, who is co-ordinating the planting, said: “I am very grateful to my one volunteer this morning and please may I have some more!”
