A resident from Pondsmead Nursing home in Oakhill used to own three cows before they were sadly infected by TB.
With help from Midway Farm Dairy in Stoke St Michael, which also supplies the nursing home with milk, the resident was treated to a special outing.
The trip commenced with a tour of Midway Farm before resting with the cows for a long duration and giving the animals a back rub! It turned out the cows are also partial to a cheeky chin rub and even being licked wasn’t a problem for this therapeutic visit.
Midway Farm Dairy ensure safe handling of their livestock, looking after the 135 strong herd. The farm has remained in its fifth generation. A heartfelt thank you to them for allowing the visit.
