This month’s meeting on St. Valentine’s Day found everyone polished, nourished, moisturised and deliciously scented with ‘Wild Rose’ courtesy of our guest speaker Helen Lippiatt of Milkhouse Beauty in Priston.

We heard about the history of the Neal’s Yard products that Helen loves and uses in all her treatments, and learned of their ethical, organic and sustainable credentials. The wild rose oil in the samples we tried and were kindly given to take home, is extracted in Dorset from rosehip seeds; the husks of which are repurposed as an exfolient.

Last month’s inaugural gathering of Dunkerton WI’s Craft Group was a roaring success attended by 13 members. This month’s activity promises the opportunity for our very own mini ‘Throw Down’ working with air-dried clay! The session will undoubtedly be full of jollity - a hallmark of our afternoons out together.

The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) are joining us for our next meeting on March 14th. We expect to learn and be empowered to support those around us in our families and community who are deaf or have hearing loss.

After the sublimely scented pamper of this last meeting, we now have a fun evening of sausage making to look forward to - this at the Knoll Farm Butchers.

We are privileged to have such a broad range of interesting events and speakers at our WI. Cathy Kennedy
