Peasedown St John Primary School pupils are becoming increasingly
excited about the new building they can see being constructed on the other side of their playground.
The new-build includes four new classrooms, a small group support room and an additional hall, as well as a new multi-use games area on the playground. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the contractors, H Mealing & Sons, have managed to make up a great deal of time and hope to complete the project by the beginning of March 2021.
Headteacher Damian Knollys said: "The roof is on, the scaffolding is down, the windows are in and it’s all coming together. After years of making do with cramped buildings, we will soon have a really good stock of classrooms for our children.
“We’re very grateful to the whole project team, including the Local Authority, Mealing and BBA Architects, who have done a great job so far."
