Mendip Studio School is celebrating the achievements of its first group of Year 11 students. 63% of students achieved five GCSEs, including English and Mathematics at A*-C (now graded as 9-4), while 91% achieved two or more Science GCSEs at A*-C, and 86% secured a Maths GCSE at 9-4.
Mendip Studio School is a new school, which opened in September 2015, with specialist subjects in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Headteacher, Bruce Hain, commented: “The students are the school, and these Year 11 students are the pioneers. They are brave, entrepreneurial and patient, and as they prepared for their exams, they role-modelled the best possible examples of young people – they will go on to shape our world around us.
“I am immensely proud of them, and endlessly grateful to their teachers, support staff and the unwavering support from their parents and carers. We will watch this space for the positive impact these students will make in the future – for themselves and for their communities. I take my hat off to them all.”
