A popular rural school in Carlingcott is looking for new, voluntary Trustees to join its management committee.

Laurel Farm Kindergarten, which encourages children to explore outdoor play and adventure, received ‘Outstanding’ in its recent Ofsted inspection.

Schoolteacher, Dominika Baran, said: “We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person to join our Board of Trustees. We welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.

“The Trustees’ role is critical in strengthening our Kindergarten, to enable it to fulfil its potential as a successful Steiner Early Years setting. Trustees meet every six to eight weeks at our beautiful rural setting in Carlingcott.”

Laurel Farm Steiner Kindergarten, for children aged three to seven years, is situated between Bath and Frome on a beautiful smallholding just outside of Peasedown St John.

Dominika added: “Our approach is unhurried and nurturing, providing children with a natural playground, full of enchanting places to explore.

“We are the recent proud recipients of a Level Three Horticultural Award, thanks to funding provided by the Peasedown Party in the Park Grant Fund.”

The role is voluntary and anyone wishing to find out more can contact Liz Casson, Kindergarten Administrator, at: [email protected] or on: 07873 544146.

The school receives a lot of support from the wider community, enabling it to run many successful projects and initiatives for children.

B&NES Councillors for Peasedown St John, Cllr Karen Walker and Cllr Sarah Bevan (Independent), added: “We visited Laurel Farm recently to congratulate them on their national award from the Royal Horticultural Society. The school is a fantastic example of an educational resource that enables children to fulfil their potential.”
