The Cheese and Grain in Frome has announced it will host a Glastonbury warm-up show from Irish pop artist CMAT - continuing the venue’s tradition of securing major acts ahead of their performance at the world-famous festival.
The show will be held on Wednesday, June 25, giving local audiences a rare opportunity to see the singer in an intimate setting before she takes to the stage at Worthy Farm on Friday, June 27.
Over the years, the Cheese and Grain in Frome has established itself as a key warm-up venue for Glastonbury performers. Artists including Foo Fighters, Coldplay, and Paul McCartney have all played surprise or low-key sets at the venue, attracting national attention and cementing the venue’s status as a significant stop on the festival circuit.
CMAT, known for her genre-blending sound and sharp lyrical wit, has built a devoted fanbase across the UK and Ireland. Her theatrical live performances and critically acclaimed albums have positioned her as one of the most original voices in contemporary pop. Her upcoming show in Frome is expected to draw fans from across the region, particularly those looking to catch a preview of her Glastonbury set in a more personal atmosphere.
The announcement was made directly by the Cheese and Grain on Facebook at 12pm Tuesday, May 6. The team regularly works in close connection with Glastonbury organisers to bring major names to the Somerset venue.
Tickets for CMAT’s performance will go on general sale at 10am on Friday, May 9, and will be available exclusively through the Cheese and Grain website at www.cheeseandgrain.com/events/cmat.
Given the venue’s track record of hosting high-profile Glastonbury warm-up shows and the growing popularity of CMAT, demand is expected to be high. Audiences hoping to attend are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
